Rainy day, warmish. The rain on the roof is so wonderful here–very full-bodied. I sit and look at the colors of the room–deep iris and fuchsia in sitting room, soft olive in living room. Candles burn and glow. The air was alive with birdy song this morning!! Yeahhhhhhhhh! Finally, after faithfully stocking all my bird feeders for weeks, they have found them. It makes my heart so happy–the place just feels completely different now that they are here. I made a fire last night and it was wonderful, the flickering light catching the crystal drops on the old chandelier. Tigey got in my lap and went into deep trance mode. And thank god Big showed up from his adventure just as I was getting ready to settle in. I had been worrying and worrying about him. I think he went back up to the old house again, but I had been up there several times and not found him. He had been gone hours in the cold rain and it was getting even colder and windy. I kept calling and calling him, and then there he was as I opened the door one more time–wet, ice crystals in his tail, meowping. I grabbed him and hugged him so hard he squeaked. Then he proceeded to devour two cans of Fancy Feast and joined Tiger in trance mode. Making my evening complete.
